Microbit Training
At Canadian AI Ventures, we believe the future starts with curiosity and creativity. Our Micro:bit Training for Kids program introduces young learners to the exciting world of coding, electronics, and problem-solving through hands-on projects. Using the BBC Micro:bit — a powerful yet simple mini-computer — children learn how to design games, control lights and sensors, and bring their ideas to life. Guided by certified instructors, participants gain a solid foundation in STEM, computational thinking, and innovation, empowering them to become the inventors and tech leaders of tomorrow.
Why Micro:bit is perfect for your child
At a time when technology is everywhere, it’s no longer enough for kids to just use devices – they need to understand how they work. The BBC Micro:bit is designed specifically for children to learn coding in a fun, visual and hands-on way. Instead of staring at a textbook, your child writes simple programs and immediately sees them come to life as lights, sounds and movement. This builds confidence, curiosity and problem-solving skills that will benefit them in school and in everyday life.
What Your Child Will Learn in This Course
Coding Foundations: Using block-based coding, kids learn key concepts like sequences, loops, variables and conditions without feeling overwhelmed.
Electronics & Sensors: They discover how LEDs, buttons, speakers, temperature and motion sensors work, and how to control them with code.
Creative Projects: From simple games and digital dice to step counters and reaction timers, children build fun projects they can proudly show at home.
Logical Thinking: Every project helps them break big problems into smaller steps, plan their ideas and test different solutions.
Teamwork & Communication: Kids work together, share ideas and help each other debug – building confidence and social skills at the same time.
By the end of the course, your child will not only know how to code a Micro:bit, but will also see themselves as a creator of technology, not just a user.
Who Is This Course For?
Our Micro:bit Training is designed for kids aged 8–14, with or without previous coding experience. We start from the basics and progress step-by-step, so beginners feel comfortable, while more advanced learners are given extra challenges. Small groups allow our instructors to give each child individual attention and support.
Ideal for curious kids who love science, games or electronics
Great introduction before learning Python, robotics or AI
Perfect for children who enjoy hands-on, project-based learning
What Does a Class Look Like?
Each session is built around a fun challenge. We begin with a short, kid-friendly explanation, then move quickly into hands-on coding and experimentation. Children work on their Micro:bit, test their ideas, and make improvements with the help of our instructors. At the end of the class, they share what they built – which is a great moment for confidence and pride.
Parents often tell us their child goes home excited, eager to show their project and talk about what they’ve learned.
